Like many Veterans, I’ve had my share of aches and pains... especially my lower back. Absolutely brutal! Those years of service certainly put a toll on my body. I was a Marine back in '87 to '91. I was stationed in 29 Palms, Okinawa, Korea, Camp Pendleton, and was on the ground during Desert Storm. When I returned back to the States, my body and mind were not the same. Pain, aches and my 1st 4th of July back stateside was not the same. I started to experience anxiety that affected my life & sleep.
And though it lingered, I pressed on...because that is what we do. In 2000, I created VetFriends.com to reconnect Veterans with their brothers and sisters they served alongside. Over the past decade, what seemed to be “everyday” pain, stress and lack of sleep had caught up with me. I was slowing down. But I was not ready...I was only in my 40s.
